The Best Beach Clubs on the French Riviera

For decades, the French Riviera has been a haven for the rich and famous, with the Fitzgeralds and Picasso staying in Cannes and Antibes, Russian Tsars in Nice, and the world’s wealthiest families in Monaco. With warm summers and mild winters, the Riviera is an ideal destination for enjoying the art of living in France. Nothing beats the beach clubs along the coast, from the iconic ones on La Croisette to the more laid-back ones in St Tropez.

La Guérite

La Guérite, one of Cannes’ most exclusive beach clubs, is only accessible by boat, making it a sought-after prize for most yachtsmen. Originally a simple beach restaurant for local sailors, the venue has since evolved into one of the Riviera’s most vibrant hotspots, complete with opulent décor and an impressive playlist. The champagne showers begin around 16pm and continue until the sun sets! The best way to fully appreciate la Guérite is to rent a boat in Cannes and spend the morning lazing in the sun between the islands before heading to the party.

Beach Club Carlton

One of the oldest and most elegant beach clubs on the Croisette. In 2022, the Carlton Beach Club was renovated and now has a retro 1960s vibe. In one of the most refined spots in Cannes’ bay, sip expertly crafted Aperol Spritz and enjoy true gastronomic cuisine from renowned French chefs. The pier makes it easier to arrive by boat.

Anjuna Beach

Because of its vibrant atmosphere and bobo-chic decor, the closest beach club to Monaco is also one of the most popular. The Principality’s rich and famous come to enjoy an afternoon of partying with their feet in the water. The club arranges a tender for visiting boats so that guests can arrive in comfort. Anjuna Beach is a true hidden gem in the bay of Eze.

Plage Keller

Keller, on the other hand, is a refined and fine-dining haven. At the beach restaurant, a renowned chef prepares some of the finest delicacies. Traditional Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist is on the menu. The bay in front of the beach is a protected area with crystal clear waters that creates a true Earthly paradise.

Club 55

The Pampelonne Beach Club speaks for itself. The relaxed atmosphere and vibrant mood of one of St Tropez’s most famous clubs make it ideal for a late afternoon lunch and lazing in the Mediterranean sun. The restaurant, a Provencal coast hidden gem, is complemented by the pristine sand and turquoise waters.
